We appreciate your interest in joining the Houston-Metro Children’s Choir. We offer two music -choir programs:

 

The Prelude Choir for students entering 2nd & 3rd Grade.  NO REQUIRED AUDITION. 

To join, please click the following to complete the registration information and pay the non-refundable fee of $50.  After you complete the registration form, you will be contacted via email to begin our intake process.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Performance Choir for students entering 4th through 8th grade.  AUDITION REQUIRED! 

 

To join , students must complete a singing audition. Your audition will be scheduled after you complete your registration form and pay the non-refundable fee of $ 50. Your audition will occur in a friendly, accepting environment with a panel of 3 to 4 music professionals. Your audition will approximately 10 minutes. 

 

 

 

 

Read the audition details below:

• Parents are not allowed in the audition room. They will be asked to sit in the lobby outside of the audition room.  

• A pianist will be available to accompany you.

• You can sing the song of your choice or choose from the list of recommended songs below.

• Your song should not be more than 1-2 minutes long.

• The audition panel (music staffers) are kind and supportive and they are not expecting you to be perfect, but they need to get a sense of how low and high your voice can go. This is often done through singing exercises that will give a choir director a good idea of your voice and ear.

• After you have finished your song, one of the staffers will lead you in a few singing exercises to assess your vocal range and ear.

 

What happens after the audition?

All students will be notified of their audition results via email within 48 hours of their audition.
